On September 21, 2023, the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK) has been listed among the national pharmaceutical authorities recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO).

With this development, it has been affirmed that all regulatory and supervisory activities concerning medicines and vaccines in Turkey adhere to WHO criteria and demonstrate the presence of a stable, well-functioning, and integrated system.

Furthermore, this recognition underscores the effective, safe, and high-quality introduction of pharmaceuticals and vaccines to the market in Turkey, once again validating the meticulous oversight. It also paves the way for Turkish-produced vaccines to be included in the product lists approved by the World Health Organization, including the prequalification/emergency use listing.

TİTCK’s acceptance into the Pharmaceutical Inspection Cooperation Scheme (PIC/s) in 2018, alongside countries such as Switzerland, the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Canada, Japan, and Australia, marked a significant milestone.

In 2020, as a full member of the International Council for Harmonisation (ICH), Turkey’s Medicines and Medical Devices Agency secured its position among internationally recognized authorities in pharmaceutical licensing, clinical research, and pharmacovigilance activities.
