Experimental economics has established itself as a key methodology for investigating behaviors under economic incentives. In recent years, an increasing number of studies have applied this approach to health policy issues. The results have been both intriguing and strongly oriented towards policy, contributing significantly to the field.
However, these findings are spread across various health-related topics, making it challenging to understand the current state of the art. To provide a comprehensive overview, a systematic review of laboratory experiments focusing on the supply of health services was conducted.
From the 1248 articles that were retrieved starting from 2011, only 56 articles published in peer-reviewed journals met the inclusion criteria. These selected papers have significantly added to the body of knowledge by offering insights into the experimental designs used in health economics.

Mapping the Landscape of Experimental Economics in Healthcare Research
The selected articles were further classified according to their main area of interest, providing a clear categorization of the existing literature. This classification helps in understanding the focus of past studies and identifying potential areas for future research in the field.
By reviewing and categorizing these key contributions, the study provides a clear snapshot of the current state of experimental economics in the health sector. It presents a valuable resource for researchers and policymakers interested in this increasingly important area of study.
